CBU Press Release for FLL Workshop

Frank Niedzwiedz (‘EE 82), Dan Kohn (University of Memphis), Tom Banning (University of Memphis), and Chris Nielsen (‘ECE ’07), directed the First Lego League (FLL) workshop at Christian Brothers University on Saturday April 16, 2016 with the assistance of Dr. John Ventura (‘EE 65), Kate Bollinger (‘ECE & CS ‘18), Brian McGinnis (ECE & CS ’18), Patrick McGinnis (ECE & CS ’15). IEEE, TSPE, and the CBU Electrical and Computer Engineering Department sponsored the workshop. Twelve teachers, coaches, mentors, and parents that represented eight schools attended the workshop. In addition, twelve students participated in the workshop. FLL team consist of 2 to 10 members of ages 9 to 14 and in the grades of 4 to 8. Teams must register in mid-September and the West Tennessee FLL competition will be held in January of 2017 at the University of Memphis.
